I am Miss Overstreet. I was born and raised right here around Baltimore.
I grew up in a good Christian home and was homeschooled from 1-12 grade.
I graduated from Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana and have
been teaching ever since. I love being a teacher and working with young
people; it is my passion and my calling. Chesapeake Baptist Church is
where I have attended and served my entire life. I am very involved in
the music ministry there, as well as the bus ministry. I am very excited
to be here at Grace and am looking forward to a prosperous and exciting
school year!

Our class verse is Galatians 5:22-23, "But the fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness,
temperance: against such there is no law." I want this class to do
their best to display the fruit of the Spirit in their everyday lives.
The students will have an opportunity to earn special awards if I catch
them showing the fruit of the Spirit.
The second goal I have for the class this year is for each
student to learn to love reading. The love of reading is a habit that
can improve a person’s mind in many aspects of life, at school, and at
home. To develop this love of reading, I will require each student to
read at least one book a month. This book must be approved by me at the
beginning of each month and I will be assigning a fun project to go
along with each book. I want to make reading a fun and productive
pastime.
