Welcome to second grade!
I am looking forward to a great year.
My name is Miss Cindy Johnson and I have been teaching at Grace since 1989. I grew up in a Christian home and asked the Lord to come into my heart when I was 6 years old. I have a younger brother named Jonathan who is in Heaven with Jesus. My brother Earl lives in Tennessee and my sister Sherry teaches first grade here at Grace.

At my home I have a poodle named Rocky, a fox terrier named Shirley, and a calico cat named Callie.

In our classroom we have a leopard gecko named Meshac and a hermit crab named Crabcake.

This year the jungle is our classroom theme.

Our class verse is Psalm 34:10:
“The young lions do lack and suffer hunger, but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.” Our goal is to follow the Lord in everything we do and say. If we are obedient to God, then He will honor our faithfulness."

I am looking forward to a wonderful year as we learn and grow together.

JUSTIN SHARED WHAT HE LEARNED ABOUT BULLFROGS WITH THE CLASS. HE BROUGHT IN A BULLFROG AND SOME TADPOLES SO THAT WE COULD OBSERVE THEM FOR THE DAY.

On Monday, October 19, we went on a field trip to the Aquarium. We went to a program where we learned about amphibians. The class enjoyed learning more about these creatures since they had recently done a report on an amphibian. We explored the Aquarium for the rest of the day before and after our lunch break.

Our next field trip will be on Tuesday, November 10. We will be taking a walk back in time to learn about colonial life.
